What is a SWISH Wellness Champion?

A SWISH Wellness Champion is a role to support the Wellness Leader (Team and Culture) to support the health and wellness of our Team. Research suggests that the most successful health and wellness strategies (SWISH) are best supported by a network of enthusiastic ‘Wellness Champions’ at a grassroots level and we want you to be a part of this!

The Silkwood Wellness mandate is to “improve the overall health and wellbeing for Silkwood Team Members, as we are committed to providing a work environment that is aligned to fulfilling Silkwood’s Aims for not only our students, but for our Team too”.

What does a SWISH Wellness Champion do?

Wellness Champions are a passionate network of volunteer team members who assist with supporting the delivery of and engagement of our SWISH Wellness Program and wellness strategy. Silkwood will assist you to develop your skills and knowledge in the wellness field and you will become a ‘go to person’ within the Silkwood Team for our team members to access. Our wellness approach is guided by Silkwood’s Values, so we see enhancing wellness in our workplace as a partnership. We work together to continue to grow our culture around empowering our Team to lead healthy lifestyles through our wellness program (SWISH) and by using our guiding principles in our workplace to provide a safe, positive and healthy work environment.

Why are Wellness Champions important?

Wellness Champions make the program and initiatives being developed and implemented across Silkwood more personal, more real and they make it easier to promote and coordinate health and wellness initiatives across the Silkwood Team. Silkwood is adopting ASWA’s award-winning approach on integrating wellness into lives and workplaces, to best deliver health and wellbeing practices that benefit you.
